Payment and cancellation policy

When you make a booking through our website, we will contact you to arrange payment for your stay. The payment terms are as follows:

  • Deposit: 30% of the total amount is due at the time of booking. Payment must be made by bank transfer to confirm the reservation.
  • Balance: The remaining amount must be paid by bank transfer no later than the day of arrival.
  • Tourist tax: The agreed rental price is subject to the local tourist tax. In the Municipality of Ostana, the tax varies (EUR 0.50–1.00 for children under 12 and EUR 1.00–2.00 for adults). The tourist tax can be paid by bank transfer together with the final balance.

Check-in is available from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In most cases, access is provided via a key lockbox. Occasionally, when possible, the host will welcome you in person.

Check-out rules

On the day of departure, please follow these instructions and check-out times.

Check-out is between 8:00 am and 10:00 am. Please lock the door and leave the key in the lockbox. Occasionally, when possible, the host will be present.

House rules

Please observe the following rules during your stay in our apartments.

  • No smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the apartments. Please respect this rule to ensure everyone's safety and comfort.
  • No pets: Dogs, cats and other animals are not permitted inside the apartments.
  • No parties: Parties are not permitted in the apartments, particularly bachelor or bachelorette parties, 18th birthday parties and similar events.
  • Additional guests: For safety and comfort reasons, please inform us if you intend to have additional guests. The accommodation's maximum occupancy must be respected.
  • Quiet hours: Please avoid making noise, especially at night, to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests and the surrounding neighbourhood.
  • Furniture and equipment: Please take care of the furniture (including furniture, paintings and other furnishings) and the equipment provided (pots, dishes, etc.).
  • Blankets and pillows: Additional blankets are available in a box inside the bedroom wardrobe. If you need them, please use them and leave them outside the wardrobe for washing. If you do not need them, please leave them where they are.

    An additional pillow is also available in the wardrobe. Please feel free to use it if needed. If you require any extra pillows, do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Waste sorting and recycling: Each apartment has separate containers for waste sorting. Please take the waste to the collection bins located downhill, at the entrance to the hamlet.
  • Heating: The radiator heating system is controlled remotely by the property manager. If you need any assistance, please contact us. The electric towel warmer in the bathroom can be operated independently by guests.
  • Electricity: The electricity supply is managed remotely by the property manager. However, if necessary (for example, if the circuit breaker trips during a storm), you can access the electrical panel on the ground floor, beneath the balcony on the hamlet side. If you experience any electrical problems, please contact us.
  • Responsible energy use: Please help us protect the environment by switching off lights and all electronic devices whenever you leave the apartment.
  • Shared areas: The garden is a shared area. Please respect other guests who use it. Some sun loungers are available for all guests in the space beneath the stairs.
  • Ratizin apartment: Guests are asked to wear the slippers provided inside the apartment to avoid damaging the wooden floors.
  • Feoun apartment: If you would like to light the fireplace, please contact the host for firewood and instructions. Take care to avoid smoke and prevent embers from falling onto the floor.
  • Ratizin and Liri apartments: The terrace is furnished with a parasol, a small table and chairs. Please close the parasol when it is not in use and, if possible, move the chairs to a sheltered place in the event of storms or strong winds.

Cleaning and laundry

The apartment is cleaned at the end of each stay and before the arrival of the next guests. Bed linen and towels are washed and sanitised by a specialist company and provided at the beginning of your stay.

For longer stays, you can request a weekly change of bed linen and towels at a cost of EUR 20.00 per change.

The following cleaning supplies are available: a broom, a floor mop and bucket, floor cleaner, washing-up liquid, multi-purpose cleaner, dishwasher detergent, a washing-up bowl and a clothes-drying rack with pegs.

Each apartment is equipped with one or two fire extinguishers and a first-aid kit.

Crissolo has several shops, including a bakery, a grocery store and a sports shop.

Paesana offers bakeries, butchers, grocery stores, a sports shop, a wine shop, flower and gardening shops, a hardware store and a supermarket.

Places of worship

In Ostana, Catholic religious services take place only on certain occasions, such as chapel festivals and the feast of St Claudio in the parish.

More regular services are held in Crissolo (every other Sunday at the Church of St Rocco and every Sunday in July and August at the Sanctuary of St Chiaffredo) and in Paesana (every other Sunday, alternating between the parishes of Santa Maria and Santa Margherita).

Things to do

In Ostana

  • Take a walk along the ancient paths connecting the hamlets, exploring the different parts of Ostana, with their chapels, traditional houses and scenic viewpoints: S. Nicolao, Serre and Pion da Charm.
  • Longer hikes:
    • Santa Lucia alla Vardetta: Approximately 1.5 hours from Pion da Charm or S. Nicolao.
    • Punta Sellassa: Approximately 2 hours from Pion da Charm.
    • Punta Ostanetta: Approximately 3 hours from Pion da Charm. Beautiful all year round, especially in the second half of June, when rhododendrons, violets and alpine clover are in bloom.
    • Colle delle Porte: Approximately 3 hours from Ciampagna.
    • Monte Frioland: Approximately 4 hours from Ciampagna.
    • The giant bench at S. Giacomo (Oncino): Approximately 1.5 hours from Ostana Villa.
  • Enjoy an electric bike ride. E-bikes can be rented at LouPourtoun, in Frazione S. Antonio.
  • Visit the Civic Ethnographic Museum “Ostana Alta Valle Po” in Villa di Ostana. Its reconstructions of traditional rooms and workplaces offer an insight into mountain life as it was 75–100 years ago.
  • Visit the “Enchanted Forest” (Bosco incantato) in Frazione Marchetti, 17. It offers nature and educational trails, as well as philosophical paths designed to help visitors rediscover inner peace and harmony with the universe.
  • Visit Casa Maurino, the home of architect Renato Maurino. Visits are available by appointment only.
  • Enjoy a relaxing break at the Ostana Villa Wellness Centre (opening soon).
  • If you enjoy reading, you can borrow books of various genres from BAO, Ostana's library, located at LouPourtoun in Frazione S. Antonio.
  • Visit the alpaca farm at the “A nostro mizoun” agriturismo.
  • If you enjoy outdoor sports, try the recently opened via ferrata at San Nicolao. Equipment can be rented from Rifugio Galaberna in Ostana Villa, LouPourtoun in S. Antonio and Isaia Sport in Paesana. An adventure park in Ostana Villa is also scheduled to open soon.
  • Take a day trip to nearby villages, explore the upper valley or the valley floor, or visit Saluzzo.

In Crissolo

  • Visit the Adventure Park.
  • Explore Rio Martino Cave. For bookings and guided visits, contact Monviso Tourism.
  • Stroll through the streets of Borgo, discovering narrow lanes, historic buildings and ancient paintings.
  • Relax at the “Spiaggia” of Crissolo, an area along the River Po.
  • Visit the San Chiaffredo Sanctuary.
  • Walk along the Sentiero dell’Ostia, from S. Chiaffredo to Borgo (approximately one hour).
  • Take a walk in Pian della Regina and enjoy a meal at “La Baita della Polenta”.
  • Spend a day at Pian del Re, where the River Po rises. You can get there by car, by shuttle bus on operating days, or on foot via the trail from Crissolo.
  • Hike to the Monviso lakes, starting from Pian del Re:
    • Lago Fiorenza: 30 minutes.
    • Lago Chiaretto: 1.5 hours.
    • Lago Superiore: 2 hours.
  • For more challenging hikes, set off from Pian del Re towards:
    • Rifugio Quintino Sella: 3 hours.
    • Rifugio Giacoletti: 3 hours.
    • Buco di Viso: 3.5 hours.
  • Take a chairlift ride. In winter, the ski slopes offer the unique experience of skiing at the foot of Monviso. In summer, enjoy breathtaking views and hiking routes towards the summit of Ghincia Pastour and Rifugio Quintino Sella.

For experienced hikers, there is the Giro di Viso circuit; mountaineers can attempt ascents of the peaks in the Monviso range.

In Oncino

  • Walk towards Saret and S. Giacomo, where the Giant Bench is located. Along the way, you can admire the mountains and hamlets of Ostana on the opposite slope.
  • Enjoy a picnic at Bigorie, the starting point for several hiking and ski touring routes.
  • Hike to Rifugio Alpetto, the first mountain hut built by the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) for ascents of Monviso. Allow a full day.
  • Walk to Monte Tivoli, at the foot of Monviso.

In Paesana

  • Visit Paesana's churches, particularly Santa Maria, which features a smaller-scale reproduction of the altar in Saluzzo Cathedral.
  • In summer, enjoy a swim in Paesana's outdoor swimming pool.
  • Discover the rock carvings at Bric Lumbatera al Trincerone, along the road to Pian Munè.
  • Spend a day at Pian Munè. The chairlift takes you up to Baita Pian Croesio at 1,880 metres, where you can enjoy the cuisine at the two mountain restaurants located at the bottom and top of the chairlift. In winter, the ski slopes and ski touring routes offer unique experiences. In summer, explore walking and hiking trails towards Pian Croesio, the Luset lakes and the peaks of Garitta Nuova and Cervetto.
  • For children, visit Trebulina, an educational woodland trail, also located at Pian Munè.
  • Enjoy a horse-riding experience at one of Paesana's riding centres: Redskin Ranch or Fly Ranch.
  • Walk along the marked trails known as “Segni e passi”.
  • Cycle along the bike route from Paesana to Sanfront, Rifreddo, Revello and the valley floor.

In Sanfront

  • Visit Balma Boves, a small historic hamlet built beneath a rocky overhang and now serving as an open-air museum.

In Barge

  • Visit the Certosa del Mombracco (La Trappa), whose origins date back to the 13th–14th centuries. Enjoy a scenic walk towards the Crosses of Envie, Sanfront and Rifreddo.
  • Spend an evening at the cinema in Barge.
  • Explore the old town and its castle, which can only be viewed from the outside, near the small lake.

In Bagnolo

  • Walk to Pra d Mill and stop at the Cistercian monastery of “Dominus Tecum”.
  • For cycling enthusiasts, explore “La Via delle Cave”, a 42-kilometre circular cycling route starting in Bagnolo and winding through the surrounding mountains.
  • In winter, spend a day skiing at the Rucaski sports centre.

In Revello

  • Visit Staffarda Abbey, built by Cistercian monks in the 12th century.
  • Visit the Cappella Marchionale di Revello, which houses several medieval frescoes, including a Last Supper scene reminiscent of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting. For information and bookings, contact Revello Town Hall.
  • Visit the Natural History Museum of the River Po, with its three large dioramas illustrating the main habitats, flora and fauna of the Monviso Park.

In Saluzzo

  • Stroll through the old town, with its narrow streets and medieval buildings. Highlights include the Civic Tower, San Giovanni and La Castiglia.
  • Visit the museums at La Castiglia: the Museum of Chivalric Civilisation, the Museum of Prison Memory and the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art. You can also visit the Casa Cavassa Civic Museum, a historic house museum dating back to the 15th century.
  • Take a break at the beautiful Saluzzo Cathedral, recently restored.
  • Spend an evening in the lively pedestrianised town centre.
  • Enjoy dinner at one of the traditional restaurants or pizzerias.

In Manta

  • Visit the magnificent Castle of Manta, renowned for its beautiful 15th-century frescoes.

In Villar San Costanzo

  • Take a walk in the Parco dei Ciciu del Villar, famous for its unusual rock formations.
