I Sitoù - Ostana

About us

Maurizio and his wife are originally from Ostana. A few years ago, they came up with the idea of converting one of their properties into a holiday home, and renovation work began.
Their love for the village, local traditions, and the Occitan language gave rise to "I Sitoù."
In the Occitan dialect of Ostana, "I Sitoù" refers to mowers (scythesmen), but the term also denotes the group of stars that make up the constellation of Orion—a significant point of reference since ancient times.
The house, which has been in the family for generations, was renovated with a focus on preserving as much of the original structure and materials as possible: the old wooden beams, the brick vaulted ceilings, and the stone walls. Antique hemp bed sheets have been repurposed into curtains and cushion covers, while old wardrobes and wooden chests have been given a new lease on life.
The host, Maurizio, is available to assist with any needs you may have.
